3 Easy Ways To Upgrade Your Kitchen On A Budget

Date

In the almost 5 years since we moved into our current home, we haven’t changed much about the aesthetic of our kitchen. It had just been flipped before we moved in, so other than the addition of appliances and a classic subway tile backsplash, it’s been same old same old.

Recently, I decided it was time for a no demo kitchen refresh. My style is ever evolving, as I’m sure yours is too! I’m not ready for a full kitchen overhaul or renovation, but I wanted to do a few things to make our kitchen feel more upscale without the upscale prices. Here are 3 affordable, simple changes we made to elevate the look of our kitchen that you can easily do too!

3 Affordable Ways To Elevate Your Kitchen

1. Swap Out Hardware

I didn’t mind the style of the original hardware, but I wanted to warm up our white and gray kitchen. While I love the light and bright vibe of our space, it can feel a little cold and flat. Battle Creek Hardware, sent me these absolutely stunning Florentine Brass Portland Round Top knobs and Portland Cup Pulls that make the kitchen feel luxe and immediately warmed up the room!

Battle Creek generously offered an exclusive discount code just for my followers! Use code “lindsey” for 15% off any purchase! (excludes super sample packs)

While there are so many affordable hardware options out there, if you don’t want to spend on new pulls and handles, consider spray painting your existing hardware! I have seen a lot of simple tutorials for repainting hardware and recently painted the knobs on our custom built in cabinet!

2. Hide Your Trash Can

We have always had our trash can out and about because of our small kitchen, but I decided to purge and swap around some items to make space for this pull out trash bin. It’s not as big as our former trash can, but I love having the trash can HIDDEN! It helps to make the space feel larger! Now I feel like I have a more custom high end kitchen with a built in trash can for a fraction of the cost and with super simple installation!

3. Change your faucet

While this might be the most costly of my 3 easy swaps, changing your faucet is still significantly cheaper than refacing cabinets or changing countertops!! I had the privilege to partner with Kohler to try their Artifacts Pull Down Faucet in Vibrant Brushed Moderne Brass. It is GORGEOUS!

I didn’t know it was possible to fall in love with a faucet, but here we are! It compliments our new brass hardware perfectly and has a luxe vintage vibe that just makes our kitchen look so much more expensive than it actually is! Beyond the stunning beauty of the Artifacts line, it has 3 spray options and a long reach in its pull down design. In summary, it’s amazing.

I feel like I have a brand new kitchen, and yet there was no demo or long hours working on this refresh! One DIY we would like to tackle in this space to make the room feel more grand is to add caps and trim at the top of our kitchen cabinets. It will help to draw the eye upward and eliminate the need to clean above my cabinets! But that’s a DIY for another day!
