Lamp Upcycles From The Archives
$4 Thrifted Floor Lamp Makeover
Easy DIY Pumpkin Pedestals
Materials
- old lamps heavy enough not to topple over in wind – mine were $5 each at the Thrift Store!
- scissors or wire cutters
- screwdriver
- spray paint in your choice of color
- faux pumpkins – I used these
How to Make It
- Start by cutting the wiring from your lamps and remove the entire cord and socket.
- In a well ventilated area, paint your lamps in your choice of color. I chose flat black but choose something that fits YOUR style! To make your lamps look like aged brass, use this tutorial!
- After your lamps are dry, puncture a hole into the bottom center of each pumpkin. I was able to do this easily with a chopstick, but if you are using a sturdier pumpkin you may need to use a drill.
- Style in your desired place!
I love the elegant black pedestal with an ivory pumpkin on top. The simplicity pairs so well with my Fall Floral Planters – another Fall DIY this year!
The classic style of these pumpkin pedestal stands will look great year after year on my Fall front porch! And I’m already brainstorming how to use these pedestals for the winter season too!
