Blankets and camp chairs in the grass are okay for movie night, but once you see what we found at Lowe’s (and the affordable prices too!) you’ll never want to go back!
I am a huge fan of finding pieces for my home that serve multiple functions. It gives me more value for my money! I wanted to find some sort of seating that would be great for patio entertaining and relaxing, but also be customizable for movie nights.
The Maitland 2-piece wicker sofa pulls apart to become 2 love seats, which we angle like theater seating when it’s show time! These sofas are so comfortable and offer so much seating when we entertain large groups! (I’m talking to you, upcoming Halloween Party!)
Does it get more cozy that a fall evening in front of a fire? I love the dual function of this fire pit table from Allen + Roth. It can serve as a coffee table for game nights and snacks, and then warm us up when the temperatures drop and we’re hungry for s’mores!
Speaking of snacks, while I was searching Lowes.com for all of my movie night essentials, I discovered that outdoor console tables are a thing! Did you know that?! It’s so great to have a place to set out snacks and drinks when we’re entertaining, and I can tuck blankets, candles, and bug spray in an outdoor bin on the bottom shelf! I also like that it’s small enough to easily move out of the way when it’s time to transform the patio into our theater!
To cozy up the space even more, I brought in this blue and cream plaid rug. It’s soft underfoot and helps to ground the space, just like indoor rugs do! This plaid works so well for our fall patio, but will also look great when spring and summer come around again!
I also snagged these stunning blue and white tassel throws from Origin 21 that have the weight of thick Mexican blankets but are so soft! Drape them over your seating for guests to grab if they need an extra layer!
Obviously we can’t have a backyard movie night without the movie screen and projector! We built our own movie screen frame out of PVC pipe and a few other simple materials! AND all of them can be found at Lowe’s! Our design is affordable, sturdy, and can easily be disassembled for off season storage! You can find the full tutorial for our DIY movie screen here!
Some projectors can be really expensive, but this budget friendly option provides an excellent picture and color! Plus it comes with it’s own screen that can be easily attached to our DIY frame! As the technologically savvy part of our duo, Tim picked out these awesome Bluetooth outdoor speakers. We can angle them in different directions so that everyone can hear no matter where they are in our yard!
The last few weekends, Tim and I have said so many times how special this space feels. Creating a warm inviting place for our friends and family is so important to us whether we’re hosting inside or outside.
