When your parents ask you to help them design a space in their home, you say yes! We were able to use so many affordable and unique DIY upcycling projects in this room! By utilizing a lot of the vintage and antique furniture and decor they already own, this sophisticated home office makeover ended up being really affordable and budget friendly!

With all of the DIYs complete, I finally got to style the room with all of Mom and Dad’s special pieces, art I’ve been collecting, and some thrifted finds! And speaking of thrifting, don’t miss my simple tips to help you find those treasures on your next thrifting trip!

I’m going to let the photos speak for themselves. My parents emphasized that they wanted their memories to be a focal point in this joint office. I made sure to include many of the items they’ve curated throughout their travels along with sentimental items like their wedding album.

We were able to transform this room on a fairly small budget too! I repurposed a lot of things my parents’ already owned and hold memories for them such as my grandmother’s chair, the drop leaf table, and even their old filing cabinet which my mom painted blue to match the built ins. It looks incredible!

My parents are completely in love with this transformation and I am thrilled with how it all turned out! If you ask them what they’re favorite part of the room is, most likely, they’ll tell you it’s the vintage portrait I had commissioned of their dog, Tate. It was actually really inexpensive, and I’m tempted to have my fur babies done next!

I also had the privilege to work with some wonderful brands who generously gifted some crucial elements of this space. Thank you so much for being such a pleasure to work with!
