Step-by-Step Guide to Making Your Cut Glass Bowl Tree
Prepare the Candle Holder Base:
If you’d like to change the base color, paint or use Rub’n Buff before starting. Lay down paper towels or scrap paper around the base to catch any glue drips.
Attach the Bowls with Adhesive:
Apply a thin, even coat of E600 glue to the top of the candle holder where the largest bowl will rest. Center the bowl on the base and ensure it’s level.
Stack and Secure Each Bowl:
Repeat the gluing process with each bowl. Since my bowls fit snugly, I attached them all in one sitting. If your bowls seem unsteady, let each layer dry for a few hours before adding the next to prevent a potential glass mishap!
Cure for 24 Hours:
Allow the adhesive to fully dry and cure for 24 hours before moving your tree to prevent any weakness or breakage in the structure.
Styling Tips for Your Glass Bowl Christmas Tree
I styled my glass tree on our dining room buffet with some brass candlesticks, a carved wood duck, and a copy of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. It’s a charming vintage-inspired display! My mom even collected her own set of bowls to make a tree—I can’t wait to help her with it!
