I found 2 large framed prints at a garage sale last fall for $3 each! I instantly knew I wanted to use them for some upcycled unique DIY art when the right inspiration hit!

When we began the design board for our basement makeover, I came across some hot glue artwork on Pinterest and knew I had to put my own easy spin on it for some high drama, eye catching and AFFORDABLE art!

Not only is this art stunning and unique, but it is extremely affordable using only a few materials and your creativity! I only spent $10 on this 24X30 wall art including the cost of the spray paint!

If you’re intimidated by the thought of using a hot glue gun to make an image or design, keep this in mind – hot glue typically can be peeled away after it is cool. So if you make a mistake you can easily “erase it!”
Materials

- A sturdy material like canvas, fiberboard, wood or glass. I applied hot glue straight to the non-glare glass of my garage sale art with no issue! You could even remove the glass from a frame and apply hot glue to the frame backing!
- Hot glue and gun – for this piece, I used 3 large glue sticks – this gun is cordless for major convenience!
- Spray paint – I used my favorite, Rustoleum Painters Touch in Flat White
How to Make it
1. I cleaned the frame and glass to remove any dirt and build-up. You could draw out a design first or freehand it like I did.

2. I moved my hot glue gun slowly like I would with any art utensil, slowing applying lines of glue to make the shapes I wanted.

3. I checked for spider web glue strings and pulled off what I could.

4. I gave the entire piece, including the frame, a few coats of flat white spray paint. If you don’t like the single color look, you can always make the frame a different color!
