I recently learned that 2.3 MILLION pounds of gift wrap end up in landfills every year. Insane! While I always try to find sustainable, affordable ways to style my home, I tried extra hard this year to find beautiful and eco friendly ways to wrap my Christmas gifts!

Craft paper is definitely your best friend when it comes to wrapping at any time of year! It’s affordable, classic, and can be customized in so many different ways all year round. I’m sharing the easy ways I’m using craft paper this year for all of my gift wrapping!
Make your own pattern
Jackson and I made these beautiful stamped papers a few years ago and they were so fun and easy to make! I can’t get over how little my guy looks in these photos! You can read all about how we made our wrapping paper here!
This year, we just used cookie cutters and customized the print with some added painted details!
Thrift Store supplies
Did you know you can thrift ribbon?! I actually made my own woven wall art out of thrifted ribbon earlier this year! I found all types of beautiful holiday ribbon at Goodwill and while it’s not recyclable, I’ll take it as a win that I’m using up someone’s old stash rather than buying new!
Au Natural
Instead of bows, consider natural elements! I dried a bunch of orange slices earlier this season and I’m using the extras as gift toppers strung with a little bit of twine! I also cut some fresh rosemary from my garden and wrapped the twine around the stem for a little greenery! Don’t have fresh rosemary? Cut some pine sprigs from a tree!
Don’t miss my paper star tutorial here! They make the most beautiful gift toppers and ornaments!
