Earlier this week, we painted the lower portion of the powder room walls a rich plum tone called Darkroom by Sherwin Williams. It immediately warmed the space, made it look larger and much more luxe! I have been dying to hang this vintage inspired floral wallpaper from North and Finch to balance the room and add that English cottage charm I’m going for!
This wallpaper comes in both traditional and peel and stick options, which I love because no matter your space, you can easily add some character! I chose traditional wallpaper. My dad helped me again with this project because it’s always fun to spend the day together. I was also in the throes of an allergic reaction to penicillin and was incredibly itchy so I was so grateful for the extra help!!!
We like to paste both the paper and the wall before hanging just to allow the paper to slide around for adjustments! It makes it much easier to get those lines perfect and any extra glue easily washes up with a damp sponge.
Can you see the vision coming to life?! I love the contrast of the dark paint and the cream paper. Those floral line drawings just pop! Up next we’ll be deciding what we want to do with the lighting and hardware in the powder room. I want to swap to brass fixtures and accents and I need to make some choices on a new towel hook and toilet paper holder. Stay tuned!
