This was one of those decisions that really had me stuck. Almost immediately after selecting our 3 paint swatches for the powder room, my gut told me Darkroom would be the best choice. Even once we hung the colors up on the wall along with our wallpaper sample and a few other elements of the space, Tim and I both voted separately for Darkroom. But it took me a while to commit!
Why? Dark colors can be scary! And this is coming from the girl that painted her basement a deep moody blue and her brick fireplace black! I let the seeds of doubt tell me it might read too black in such a small space. The moral of the story, as always, is to go with your gut and TAKE RISKS! It’s only paint and can be changed later!
This space does not indeed look black, but feels so warm and cozy with this super rich plum like the skin of the actual fruit! I cannot wait to hang the wallpaper to balance the space and then bring in the small details that are just going to make this room POP! Stay tuned!
