Traditionally, my parents come to our home for Christmas Day and this is the first year we can actually all fit around our kitchen table for brunch! Eating in the dining room can feel a little formal and I wanted to style a table scape that felt cozy and whimsical now that we have our new kitchen table!
After a whirlwind morning of opening presents, no one ones to be fussing around in the kitchen, so here are some super simple time saving hacks to get you out of the kitchen faster yet still serve a gorgeous and memorable Christmas Brunch.
This quiche was so easy to put together with a pre-maid pie shell! Yes, homemade pie crust typically tastes way better, but I love the idea of cutting a few corners this time with my menu because Christmas is busy and I don’t want to be in the kitchen all of the time! This quiche was made with extra sharp cheddar and bacon, but you can use any filling ingredients you like. I love the thin tomato slices and rosemary sprig on top for a festive touch!
Easy Christmas Quiche
Ingredients
- 1 frozen pie crust (I used the kind that comes already in the pie plate)
- 6 large eggs
- ¾ cup half and half
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheese divided
- optional – thin slices of tomato
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- If desired, carefully transfer the pie shell to an actual pie plate.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle bacon and 1 cup of cheese into the pie crust and pour the egg mixture over top. Sprinkle remaining ½ cup cheese on top of egg mixture.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until the center is completely set. If using tomato slices, place them on top of the quiche about 10 minutes before it’s set. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Christmas Danish
Christmas brunch 100% needs something sweet and I thought that raspberry danish would look so lovely on this white tree platter! Want to know a secret? I didn’t bake a thing for the danish! I bought 2 rectangular trays of raspberry danish and cut out circles with a cup! They look like the most delicious Christmas baubles ever!
Christmas Drinks
Orange cranberry juice is the perfect bright pop of color for brunch! And obviously cocoa and coffee had to be served in these adorable plaid monogram mugs! I made the snowflakes with tooth picks and marshmallows.
