Thrifted Thanksgiving Table Setting

Date

I wanted to challenge myself to set a table with mostly thrifted items in order to show you what types of things to look for while thrifting and hopefully inspire you to head to the thrift shop yourself if you’re hosting or just want to create a beautiful table for your immediate family this fall!

This year’s Thanksgiving table was inspired by hanging floral centerpieces I saw online at Balsam Hill. I shared my affordable take on them earlier this week and you can read all about them here! I love how these 3D wreath forms can be customized for any occasion and can be reused season to season by swapping out the florals!

With so much gorgeous drama hanging above my table, I wanted to keep my table setting light with a vintage flair. I found this adorable ceramic turkey while thrifting and gave him a little makeover for the center of my table.

I used a table runner I’ve owned for several years from Target. I wanted to let the raw wood of my newly refinished dining table shine through this year now that I finally have a dining table I’m proud of!

I also decided not to style with chargers this time. I love these gold chargers, but I found that I had more room on my table for serveware without them. Obviously, all of my platters and bowls are empty, but I wanted to see and show you how much space I had on my 3 foot wide table with this setting!

My serveware is Wilton Armetale – both pieces I’ve owned for years along with these giant platter I scored for $7 a few months ago! I also added in some of my antique carnival glass bowls because they look so lovely with the blue accents and helped give the table a fall vibe.

I fell in love with these blue and cream dishes from Goodwill. The blue ties in so well with the berries and accents in my floral orbs! They’ll also look gorgeous in the spring with different types of accents! I spent $6 on a set of 8 plates! I also thrifted my salad plate for $3 for a set of 12! I love the unique scalloped handles!

While I planned to use my go-to white linen napkins, I found these chambray blue napkins at a yard sale for $1.50. They are the perfect shade of blue to match my dinner plates!

I finished off the table with family heirloom goblets and my favorite flatware. It’s durable enough to use every day, but elegant enough that I’m proud to use it for special occasions.

I might just have to challenge myself to thrift a Christmas table scape this year too! What do you think?? Happy Thanksgiving, my American friends!
