Thrifted Woven Hearts

Date

Have you ever seen a set of these 1980’s nesting heart baskets at a thrift store? Or maybe you already own a set? I see them all the time while thrifting and challenged myself to upcycle them into chic décor for Valentine’s Day. To make them look a bit more boho and less country, I bleached them first.

I noticed that the “pins” on the large heart that held it together were loose so I decided to see what would happen if I removed them entirely. I discovered that this gave me 4 separate woven hearts that look much more high end and less like the 80’s called asking for their hearts back, lol!

How To Style Wicker Hearts

There are so many ways I want to style these in my home so I wrote up a list to hopefully inspire you!

  • take apart the smaller ones to use as garland!
  • hang one on your front door as a wreath
  • hang on a large piece of art or on a mirror
  • use as shelf styling
  • fill (in basket form) with florals or use as a fruit bowl in your kitchen
  • lay the separated hearts down the center of your table as a runner. Add candle sticks and a floral arrangement
  • Hang them from one another suspended from the ceiling for a sculptural mobile
  • hang in a group arrangement on the wall
  • treat one like a wreath form and attach florals and greenery for a showstopping wreath

How would you choose to style these in your home? I’d love to know if you have any other ideas! Leave a comment!
