1. Sleds
Larger vintage sleds are perfect for styling a winter-themed front porch. Lean one against your house and decorate it with an evergreen swag and ice skates.
Smaller sleds are great for indoor use. Add height to a coffee table by topping a sled with a candle and vase of evergreen branches. Or hang a sled with a velvet ribbon as part of a festive gallery wall for a unique seasonal touch.
2. Vases
Thrifted vases are ideal for creating elegant floating candle centerpieces.
Here’s how:
- Add real or faux greenery to the bottom of the vase.
- Fill the vase ¾ of the way with water.
- Add fresh cranberries, which will float on top of the water.
- Nestle a floating candle among the cranberries.
The combination of firelight, jewel tones, and greenery makes an eye-catching holiday accent!
3. Lamp shades
Upcycle large thrifted lamp shades into tree collars. One year, I spray-painted a pleated shade flat black for a sophisticated look.
This year, I added black velvet ribbon for a Victorian-inspired touch.
4. Tins and jars
Holiday tins and jars are perfect for gifting handmade treats like cookies, candy, or cocoa mix. Use themed tins or fun shapes like Santa or snowman jars.
